Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."  
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty sports a Barrel Form, Tooled Grooved Rim, and Top to Bottom Decoration.  From the top down are two straight stripes framing the rim, freehand vining cascading across the shoulder, the company advertising in the middle, and two straight stripes framing a wavy stripe at the bottom.   Stands 9 3/4" tall.   
 
Excellent Condition.  A half dozen small nibbles/chips on the inner rim (1/8" to 1/4").  That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
