    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful  8 1/4" Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."  

     

    James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 

     

    Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Wax Sealer Form with Tooled Rim with Groove for the Hot Wax, and the Company Advertising in Script-like Cobalt Lettering on a Diagonal.  Stands 8 1/4" tall.   

     

    Excellent Condition.  Some light staining on the back bottom.  That's it!  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. A 1/2" clay void to the left of the company advertising in the making.
