Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, Pa."  
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features the Wax Sealer Grooved Rim, Tapered Sides, and the Company Advertising in a Paisley Shape Surrounding a Tobacco Leaf.  Stands 8 1/4" tall.
 
Excellent Condition. An 1/8" chip on the inner rim and some minor nibbles inside the outer rim.  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
