Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made for "James A. Tilford, Choice Wines, Teas, & C., No. 1 Third Avenue, N. York."
 
The form and decoration indicate that Noah White of Utica was the maker of this jug. 
 
Dating around 1860, this beauty features Three Lines of Impressed Merchant Advertising with Cobalt Wash, a Freehand Tulip and Capacity Number, and Cobalt Accent at the Handle Terminals.  Stands 14 1/4" tall.
 
Excellent Condition.  Two adjacent 1/2 chips on the bottom of the left and right sides, and some overall light staining from age.  No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
