Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Pitcher made and stamped by "John Burger, Rochester."
This is the mark of John Burger who founded the family's pottery under this stamp and ran it from 1854-1867 (William Ketchum, American Stoneware, p. 74).
This beauty sports a Sleek Tall and Narrow Form with Angular Rim, Pinched Spout, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Gorgeous Daisy Executed with a Slip Cup in Bright Cobalt. The floral has four leaves and a blossom with 8 petals. Stands 10 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. Two small chips on the bottom edge (1/4", 3/8"). That's it! No rim or spout chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Two small stone pings in the making. Exceptionally clean example
