    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Preserve made and stamped by "John Burger, Rochester."

     

    This is the mark of John Burger who founded the family's pottery under this stamp and ran it from 1854-1867 (William Ketchum, American Stoneware, p. 74).

     

    This beauty sports a Larger Size, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Freehand Capacity Number "3", and a Tulip Executed with a Slip Cup in Strong Cobalt.  Intricate and exceptionally nice artwork! Stands 13 1/4" tall. 

     

    Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  Some overglaze on the front to the left in the making.
