Item 9282
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this unusual 1/2 Gallon Jug made for "John Mathews, Syrup Department, N.Y."
This jug was made in Southwestern Pennsylvania, most likely in Greensboro or New Geneva about 1880. Stoneware made for New York from this region is very rare because New York had plenty of potteries of its own.
This beauty features a Small 1/2 Gallon Size and Four Lines of Stenciled Advertising. Stands 9 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. Two minor 1/8" nibbles on the spout. That's it! No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
