Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon 4 Gallon Ovoid Jar made and stamped by "Kelin and Harbaugh."

This is the work of Clarles Kelin who ran his pottery in Beaver, PA in the 1850's and 1860's and took a partner with the last name Harbaugh in the 1860's.  Their pottery is uncommon.   Shaltenbrand remarks, "Early Kelin pieces as well as thsoe from the Kelin & Harbaugh firm are very rare and most desirable" (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 135-137).

This beauty features a Heavy Construction, Ovoid Form, Tooled Rim, Applied Handles with Cobalt at the Terminals, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Brushed Cobalt Vine with Three Tulips.  Stands 14" tall.

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind!
