Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "Knotts & Co., Palatine, W. VA."  (modern Fairmont)
 
Circa 1875, this beauty features the Wax Sealer Form with Tooled Grooved Rim, Tapered Sides, and Top and Bottom Cobalt Stripes that Frame the Company Advertising with a Small WV Mountain Below.  Stands 9 3/4" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  A 1/4" chip on the inner rim, and a  narrow 3/4" chip inside the outer rim. That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Slightly convex on the bottom in the making.
