Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Large Lidded and Banded Yellow Ware Butter Crock.
It was made by Pfaltzgraff of York, Pennsylvania between 1920 and 1930 (Lisa McAllister, Collector's Guide to Yellow Ware, Book III, p. 119).
This beauty features a Straight Side, Distinct Footer, and Two Rust-Colored Mocha Bands Framing Two White Mocha Bands. The matching lid repeats the stripe pattern. Measures 5 5/8" tall and 7 1/2" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. The base has five minor nibbles inside the rim (pinhead-size to 1/4), a 1/2" line outside the rim that is not seen inside (closeup), and some light staining. The lid has a 1/4" chip in the underside at the edge. Otherwise as made.
