    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Harvest Jug from the Midwest.  

     

    Dating to the late 19th century, this beauty features the Harvest Jug Form with Carrying Handle, Large Spout for Filling, and Small Spout for Drinking as well as a Black Gun Metal Glaze.  Stands 10 3/4" tall. 

     

    An interesting characteristic is the potter's handprint on the bottom edge created when he dipped the jug in Albany Slip glaze (last picture).

     

    Excellent Condition.  A 1/4" flake inside the larger spout.  That's it!  No other chips or any hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A small glaze skip on the smaller spout in the making.
