Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this monumental 15 Gallon Water Cooler made by "Lipscombe & Co., Patentees, 233 Strand Street, Temple Bar, London."
Dating to the 19th century, this beauty features an Approximately 15 Gallon Size with Applied Decoration to include Queen Victoria's Coat of Arms with a Lion and Unicorn, a Cartouche with the Pottery Maker's Advertising, and an Abundance of Grape Vines and Clusters Framing the Front. Fancy applied handles in each side. Stands 24 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. A spot of glaze loss and a chip on the inner ring inside near the bottom where the filter sat (closeup 1), some surface-only lines by the left handle (closeup 2), a chips on the right handle, a chip on the side of the spigot hole, adn a 1 1/2" chip on the back bottom. No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Some short drying or firing lines from the rim inside in the making.
