Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Miniature Scratch reading, "Little Brown Jug 1876."
This is the work of Edward Norton and Luman Preston Norton, the son of Julius Norton, who worked together in the family pottery in Bennington, Vermont from 1861-1881. They made these jugs for the nation's Centennial of 1876.
This beauty sports Incised Script Writing. Stands 3" Tall.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind. What looks like a chip on the bottom of the right side is a glaze skip in the making.
