    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Miniature Scratch Jug reading, "Little Brown Jug."

     

    This is the work of Edward Norton and Luman Preston Norton, the son of Julius Norton, who worked together in the family pottery in Bennington, Vermont from 1861-1881. They made these jugs for the nation's Centennial of 1876.

     

    This beauty sports Incised Script Writing.  Stands 3" Tall.

     

    Excellent Condition.  Three pinhead-size nibbles on the spout.  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
