Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare Whiskey Dispenser with Fancy Embossed Decoration.
This piece was made by the Whites Pottery of Utica, N.Y. between 1890 and 1907 when they made they line of elaborate molded stoneware.
This beauty features a spout with embossed leaves and impressed chain with top and bottom embossed border decoration. The front shoulder features two lions holding a fancy crest with crown on top with a banner reading "London Club Whiskey" below. The body sports four polo players with "Polo" below Lots of detail in the players and their horses, as wells as the grounds and woods behind. The base has a border of recessed ovals with cobalt outline. The back features a globe with North and South America blanketed by a banner reading, "John P. Sheehand & Co., Utica, N.Y. Sole Agts." Stands 14 1/2" tall. Approximately 3 gallons.
Excellent Condition. A 3/4" chip inside the spout (closeup) and a 1/2" surface line to its left. That's it! No other chips or any hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
