Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug made in "Lyons."
This is the work of Thompson Harrington who ran the pottery in Lyons from 1852 to 1872 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 73-74).
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Freehand 1 Capacity Number Resting on the Stem of a Half-Moon-Shaped Leaf. The leaf is compised of four strokes of shiny cobalt. Stands 10 1/2" tall.
Very Good Condition. A faint 3" surface craze line below the spout on the right side (closeup) and some scattered light staining. No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
