Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Jug stamped "Lyons."

It is easily attributed to Jacob Fisher who made pottery in Lyons, New York from 1872-1902 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).

This beauty features the Town Name "Lyons" with Cobalt Wash, a Freehand Capacity Number 2, and a Brushed Cobalt Tulip Decoration.  The tulip sports 5 leaves and a bloseom with 2 Petals and 3 Stamin.   Stands 13 1/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  A flat 1/2" chip on the bottom edge.  That's it!  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  The chip on the top of the spout on the right side is in the making from being separated from a piece resting on it from above in the kiln.
