Item 8103
 
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Mysterious Blue and White Spongeware Vessel.  
 
I would date it around 1900.  It is shaped like a pepper pot or perfume bottle, but the glaze wear around the top and the slight ledge about 1/4" from the top indicate that it had some kind of lid that fit over the top.  Always been a mystery to me.  
 
Very Good Condition.  Glaze wear around the top.  Otherwise as made.
