Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful early 2 Gallon Stoneware Cream Pot made and stamped by "N. Clark & Co., Lyons."

This is the work of Nathan Clark who ran the pottery in Athens, New York and a satellite pottery in Lyons, New York from 1822 to 1852 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 66, 73).

This beauty sports a Tooled Rim and Shoulder that Incorporates the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, a Freehand "2" Capacity Number, and a Folk Art Floral in Rich and Shiny Cobalt.  The floral rises from ground cover to a stem with four leaves, two of which are large and dotted; up to three blossoms, all of which are different and have dotted centers.  Additional cobalt at the handle terminals.  Stands 10" tall.

Comes most recently from an estate in western New York.

Excellent Condition.  Faint stain by the right handle. That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
