Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Batter Jug made and stamped by "N. White & Co., Binghamton, N.Y." 
 
This is the mark of William Roberts, son-in-law of Noah White of Whites Utica Pottery. He founded a branch of the family business in Binghamton in 1848 and ran it until 1888 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, 71). 
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and Cobalt Accents around the Pour Spout, Base Stabilizing Handle, and Handle Holders. Retains its original bail handle. Measures 8 1/4" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition. A 1/2" chip and rust staining on the tip of the spout, a 1/4" hairline and 1 1/4" hairline on the rim (closeup), and a stain by the left handle holder.  No rim or base chips, cracks, or restoration.
