Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "N. White & Co., Binghamton."
This is the work of William Roberts, son-in-law of Noah White of the Whites Pottery of Utica, N.Y. He founded a branch of the family business in Binghamton in 1848 and ran it until 1888 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 71)
This beauty is features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Double Poppy Decoration created with a Slip Cup. The floral sports many leaves and two elaborate, dotted blossoms. Measures 10" tall and 11" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. Some isolated small stains in the back. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. Some fine bubbling in the cobalt in the making.
