Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "Norton & Fenton, East Bennington, VT." 
 
This is the work of Julius Norton and his brother-in-law, Christopher Fenton, who were partners in the Norton pottery in Bennington from 1844-1847 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 42). 
 
This beauty features the Ovoid Form, and Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash. Stands 11 1/4" tall. 
 
Very Good Condition.  A 1/4" ping on the spout, and a 2 1/2" hairline below the spout by the pottery stamp and some staining to its left. No base chips, cracks, or restoration.
