Item 10907
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous 1 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "O. L. and A. K. Ballard, Burlington, VT."
This is the mark of Orrin and Alfred Ballard who ran the family pottery under this stamp from 1856-1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 46).
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp and Capacity Number with Cobalt Wash, and a Large Brushed Folk Art Flower with Stem and Five Blossoms. A very whimsical and folky decoration! Stands 12 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. A minor 1/4" surface ping line on the spout, a 1/4" flake at the base, and some light staining from use. That's it! No hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
