Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Preserve Jar made and stamped by "Haxstun, Ottman & Co., Fort Edward, N.Y."
 
This is the stamp of William and Gilbert Ottman who ran the company from 1872-1892 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 68).
 
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Large Bluebird Bird on a Branch Decoration.  This woodland scene is executed in bright cobalt blue.  Stands 12" tall.
 
Excellent Condition.  Minor nibbles on the lid seating ledge, a 1/4" flake inside the rim, and a 3/4" chip on the back of the left handle.   That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairllines, cracks, stains, or restoration.   Exceptionally clean.
