    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "P. Rodenbaugh, Akron, O."

     

    This is the mark of Peter Rodenbaugh who made pottery in Akron, Ohio in the late 19th century (See F. Robert Treichler, A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware, pp. 82-83).

     

    Made around 1860, this Churn has the Pottery Stamp on the Right Shoulder and a Freehand 4 Capacity Number being upheld by a Large Bumblebee.  Measures 11 1/2" tall and 11" wide across the top.  

     

    Fair to Good Condition.  Scattered staining, a 3 1/2" vertical hairline on the left side at the bottom that wraps under 3 1/2", and an 8" crack from the rim on the right side.  No chips or restoration.
