  • Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this truly gorgeous Pair of Design Spatterware Plates in the Dogwood (aka Primrose) Pattern.

     

    Dating to the mid-19th century, the plates feature a double border of blue florets with a center dogword decoration in red and green, and all trimmed with red stripes.  Measures 8 1/2" Wide.

     

    These plates come from the collection of Earl and Ada Robacker who wrote, Spatterware and Sponge, as an old sticker on the back indicates.  Also, the plate on the left is the actual plate photographed on p. 58 (see closeups).

     

    Excellent Condition. Both plates have a few very light utensil marks. No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  The plate on the right has an 1/8" indentation on the edge in the making and glazed over (closeup).  Please view the full gallery of pictures as part of the description.
