Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare 2 Gallon Ovoid Crock stamped "Parker and Jones."

Many thanks to Scott Brams who found the history of this piece in the notes of a local historian, David Weber.  Daniel Parker and Samuel Jones made pottery in Pleasantville, Pennsylvania from 1850 to around 1868 when they ventured into the oil business.  Jones continued to make brick and tile in Nickleville, Venango County, Pennsylvania and later worked with his brother Samuel in Akron (1889-1890).

Circa 1850, this beauty features the Semi-Ovoid Form, Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Large Freehand Capacity Number.  Stands 11" tall.

Excellent Condition. Some small chips under the right handle and one dime-size stain on the back.  That's it!  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
