Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous 1 Gallon Jar with Profuse Decoration.
The decoration indicats that this jar is the work of the pottery of William Linton of Baltimore, Maryland. Linton made stoneware from 1845 to 1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 98).
This beauty features a Brushed Cobalt Garlnad of Leaves and Blossoms all Around the Middle. There are 7 blossoms and 6 large leaves. All the cobalt is rich and shiny. A very flamboyant decoration. Stands 10 1/2".
Very Good Condition. Three chips on the bottom edge (1/4", 1/4", 1"), and a 3" vertical hairline near the base that wraps under and trails off on the underside (closeups). No rim chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
