Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this superb 2 Gallon Jug made by "R. T. Williams, New Geneva, PA."
 
This is the work of Robert T. Williams who worked in New Geneva from 1882 to 1895 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners , pp. 168-70).
 
This beauty features a Stripe at the Shoulder, the Company Advertising in the Middle Framing a Sideways Flower and Accented at the Bottom by Leaves, a Large Freehand Capacity Number 2 Flanked by Equally Bold Leaves, and a Bottom Stripe.  Exceptionally clean with light gray glaze and dark cobalt for eye-pleasing contrast, a quality not typically seen on Williams's stoneware.  Stands 14 3/4" tall.
 
Exceptional Condition.  A minor 1/8" nibble inside the spout.  Otherwise as made!
