Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Monumental 12 Gallon Jar made by "R. T. Williams, New Geneva, PA."

This is the work of Robert T. Williams who worked in New Geneva, PA from 1882 to 1895 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners , pp. 168-170).

This beauty features a Large Size, Tooled Rim accented with a Straight Stripe, Shoulder decorated with a Straight and Wavy Stripe, Body Displaying a Freehand Vine, the Company Advertising Surrounding a Fancy Floral with Tulip Accents Above, and the Base Bearing a Large "12" Capacity Number Flanked by Two Dashes and Framed Top by a Wavy Stripe and Bottom by a Straight Stripe.  Stands 21 3/4" tall.

This piece was fired with wood and not coal as Wiliams later used, so it has a light coloration and bold, dark cobalt-- a combination that provides strong contrast.

Excellent Condition.  Glaze wear on the far left of the bottom wavy stripe.  That's it!  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Two vertical kiln touches on the back in the making as shown.

Too large to ship.  Will arrange pickup/delivery with the buyer.
