Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this rare Blue on Blue Spongeware Salt Crock.  
 
Circa 1900-1920, this beauty features a Blue on Blue Sponging with "Salt" Embossed on the Front with Cobalt Glaze Flanked by Embosed Bunches of Grapes.  Measures 5 3/4" tall to the top of the holder and 5 3/4" wide.  Quality lathe-turned replacement lid.
 
Very Good Condition.  A pinhead nibble on the opening of the hanger, and three glaze flakes inside (the fourth spot is a glaze skip).  That's it!  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A 1 1/2" drying line in the front in the making and glazed over (closeups).
