    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare 1/2 Gallon Jar made for "D. Richard, Webster."  Webster is a tiny town on the Monongehela River between Washington, PA and New Stanton, PA.  It is a river town jar. 

     

    This jar was likely made in Greensboro, PA by Hamilton and Jones or James Hamilton.  

     

    Circa 1870, this beauty features a Tooled Rim, Top and Bottom Wide Stripe, and the Company Advertising in the Center Accented Top and Bottom.  Stands 8" tall.

     

    I can find no other sale record for a jar made for Webster, PA.  

     

    Excellent Condition.  A light stain run on the back and a couple tiny nibbles under the rim.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  The chip on the rim is in the making and glazed over.
