    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare Stoneware Domed Crock Lid. 

     

    The decoration indicates that it was made by Elisha B. Hyssong (sometimes spelled Hyssong) whose family made stoneware in Cassville, Pennsylvania from 1847-1912 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, p. 74). 

     

    This beauty features the Uncommon Domed Form, 3 Freehand Tulips Encircling the Dome, and 8 Leaves Along the Edge.  Measures 3 1/4" tall and 10 1/2" in diameter, and fits in an opening at least 9 1/8" wide.  

     

    Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.
