Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare 2 Gallon Stoneware Cream Pot made by Hamilton and Jones, Greensboro."
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, PA from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).
Circa 1880, this beauty features a the Company Advertising in Large and Bold Lettering Surroundoing an Equally Large Capacity Number Flanked by Leaves. Dark and Shiny Cobalt. Very unsually decoration for this maker. Measures 10" tall and 9 1/2" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. Twp 1/4" chips inside the rim and very light staining from use. That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
