Coming  to you from Doc's Crocks is this rare Mini Jug that reads, "Compliments of The Reception, 85 Union Square Ave., San Francisco, Cal." 
 
The Reception Cafe was owned by Sam Zenovich and was a hangout for boxing and racing fans, including boxing champions John L. Sullivan, James J. Corbett, and Jack Dempsey.  Zenovich bought Moraghan’s seafood restaurant in 1922 and his regulars followed him to his new establishment where it was referred to as "Sam's", a seafood restaurant that still exists on Bush Street. 
 
This beauty features a Rectangular Label with Four Lines of Stenciled Advertising.  Stands 3 1/2" tall.
 
Excellent Condition.  Pinprick-size nibble on the shoulder.  Otherwise Mint!
