Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jar with Leaf Garland.
It is easy to attribute to Richard Remmey who ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century. (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).
Circa 1870, this beauty features a Tooled Square Rim and Shoulder, and Four Large Brushed Cobalt Leaves around the Outside. Generous, dark cobalt. Stands 13" tall.
Excellent Condition. Two chips on the top edge (1/4", 1/2"). That's it! No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A surface-only 1" drying line inside the rim in the making (closeup).
