Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Decorated Cuspidor Spittoon.

This piece is easily attributed to Richard Remmey who made stoneware in Philadelphia at the family pottery from the 1860's to the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-9).

Circa 1860, this beauty features Cobalt Accent Around the Drain Opening to Mimic a Flower, and a Garland of 4 Brushed Cobalt Sideways Leaves Around the Middle.  Measures 4 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" wide across the top.

Excellent Condition. A single faint stain run.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  Exceptionally clean.
