Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous 1/2 Gallon Decorated Pitcher.
It is easy to attribute this beauty to the factory of Richard Remmey who ran the family pottery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).
Circa 1860, this beauty features a Smaller 1/2 Gallon Size, Tall Neck with Tooled Rim and Shoulder, Bulbous Body with Tooled Footer, and Exuberant Decoration. Four leaves ring the neck and three standing tulips rise up the front. All the cobalt is rich, dark, and shiny. Stands only 8" tall.
