Item 10966
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Little 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Decoration.
The form and decoration make it easy to attribute this pitcher to Richard Remmey who ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).
Circa 1860, this beauty features a Tooled Tall Neck with Squared Rim with Two Brushed Cobalt Leaves on Each Side, and a Bulbous Base with Tooled Footer Sporting a Garland of Three Large Tulips Wrapping Around. Generous, dark and bright cobalt. Stands 8 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. Other than some light crazing of age in the back, this little pitcher is as made!
