    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Canning Jar made by "Richey & Hamilton, Palatine, W. VA ."

     

    Richey and Hamilton made pottery in Palatine (modern Fairmont) from around 1870-1890 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 100).

     

    Dating around 1880, this beauty features a Tooled Rim and the Company Advertising Surrounding a Detailed Floral and Accented by Leaves at the Bottom.  Complete stencil and bold cobalt!  Stands 8 1/4" tall.

     

    Excellent Condition. Some very light staining. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  Some bubbling in the cobalt and two small chips on the bottom of the right side in the making.
