    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made by "Richey & Hamilton, Palatine, W. VA ."

     

    Richey and Hamilton made pottery in Palatine (modern Fairmont) from around 1870-1890 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 100).

     

    Dating around 1880, this beauty features a Tooled Rim and the Pottery Advertising Surrounding a Floral on the Front.  Stands 12" tall.

     

    Good Condition.  A faint, tight hairline on the right side from the rim straight to the base to form an X on the underside.  A couple small chips on the underside at the edge.  No rim chips, stains,  or restoration.
