Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "Richey & Hamilton, Palatine, W. VA ."
 
Richey and Hamilton made pottery in Palatine (modern Fairmont) from around 1870-1890 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 100).
 
Dating around 1880, this beauty features the Tooled and Grooved Wax Sealer Rim, Tall and Narrow Form with Tapered Sides, a Straight and a Wavy Stripe at the top, and the Company Advertising in a Swirl of Vining in the Middle.  Stands 10 1/2" tall.
 
Very Good Condition.  Some wear to the stencil.  Otherwise, as made.
