    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "S. D. Kellogg, Whately."

     

    This is the stamp of S. D. Kellogg who potted in Whately from 1851-1853. 

     

    This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Whimsical Floral with Two Large Base Leaves, Leafy Stem and a Blossom with Three Petals-- all in a Very Pretty Cobalt.  Stands 11 1/4" tall.  

     

    Very Good Condition.  Staining from use and some shallow age lines.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  A shallow chip on the right side of the spout, a kiln touch on the back near the bottom, and a 1" drying/firing line at the base-- all in the making.
