Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Tanware Jug that reads, "S. T. Suit, Suitland, Maryland, 1869 Whiskey." 
 
Circa 1880, this jug was made in New Geneva, Pennsylvania, known for its Tanware production.  
 
This beauty features a Brown Glaze and a Stencil on an Unglazed Background Typical of Tanware.  It features 4 Lines of Stenciled Advertising and stands only 7 3/4" tall.
 
Excellent Condition. A shallow 1/4" chip/glaze rub on the right side of the spout, and two pinhead-size nibbles on the left side and a narrow 1/2" chip/glaze rub on the right side of the handle.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
