    Coming to you from Doc's Crock is this wonderful 3 Gallon Preserve Jar made and stamped by "Seymour & Bosworth, Hartford, Conn." 

     

    This is the work of Israel Seymour and Stanley Bosworth who ran the pottery in Hartford Connecticut from 1871 to around 1890 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, 61).

     

    This beauty features the Preserve Jar Form, Strong Pottery Stamp, and a Large Brushed Cobalt Feather up the Front.  Stands 13 1/4" tall. 

     

    Very Good Condition.  A 1/4" chip on the inner lid seating ring, a narrow 1/2" chip on the bottomedge, and some light waterglass staining inside and out.  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
