Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Stoneware Spongeware 1/2 Gallon Pitcher stamped on the bottom, "Uhl Pottery Co., Huntington, Ind."
It was made by the Uhl Pottery of Huntingburg, Indiana (Anna Mary Feldmeyer & Kara Holtzman, Uhl Pottery, 2nd ed., p. 25).
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty has a Bulbous Base with Tall Neck and Pinched Spout, as well as Gorgeous Blue Sponging! This form and maker is a perennial favorite with collectors. Measures 7 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. Some light staining inside at the bottom. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. A surface drying line to the left of the spout in the making that is 1/2" outside and 1/2" inside (closeup).
