    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by the "Somerset Potters' Works." 

     

    This pottery was located in Somerset, Massachusetts and run by Leonard and Benjamin G. Chace from 1847-1882 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 51).

     

    This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Brushed Cobalt Double Flower Executed with a Slip Cup.  Stands 12 1/4" tall.

     

    Very Good Condition.  A 1/4" flake on the back of the spout, minor nibbles on the base, and some staining on the lower half.  No hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
