    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jar attributed to Henry Remmey, Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

     

    Henry Remmey, Jr. ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1820's to the 1850's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).

     

    Dating about 1840, this beauty features a Tall Form, Tooled Rim and Shoulder in Ever Widening Circles, and a Two Double Brushed Cobalt Floral Decorations Enveloping the Surface. Each floral has two stems with two sets of leaves and four blossoms each. Stands 13 1/4" tall.

     

    Excellent Condition. A minor 3/8" chip on the rim and footer. That's it! No inner rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
