Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Jar attributed to Henry Remmey, Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Henry Remmey, Jr. ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1820's to the 1850's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).

Dating about 1840, this beauty features a Rounded Rim, Tooled Shoulder, and a Garland of Unique of 8 Decorations that look like Eyes or Fish. This is not a decoration I have ever seen before on a Henry Remmey. He did like to experiment!  Stands 8 1/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Eight small chips at the base/underside (1/8" to 1/4").  That's it!  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
