    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Decorated Jar attributed to Henry Remmey, Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

     

    Henry Remmey, Jr. ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1820's to the 1850's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).

     

    Dating about 1840, this beauty features a Rounded Rim, Tooled Shoulder, and a Floral Garland with Three Dangling Blossoms Around the Shoulder.  Stands 8 1/2" tall.  

     

    Very Good Condition.  Wear and a 1/2" hairline on the rim (closeup) and a 1/4" chip at the base.  That's it!  No rim chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
